PCB's being shipped

So today I got an email from the grrf webshop where I ordered my bare circuit boards. I think I'll experience some issues soldering it but thats just part of the experience.
One more thing: when I ordered the circuit boards I wasn't really thinking straight: I just ordered one stepper controller board. Kinda stupid but well. It still will be alot of work just soldering it nicely and ofcourse, there is no rush until I buy the electronic components (especially the card reader and main mobo chip)...

However: yesterday I stated that I'll upload a stud template. Well I didn't. though luck:p nah just kidding.
I'll try making it still but it doesn't have that high of a priority;).

Dimensioning and where to start

So today I thought It'd be nice to make a template for the M8 stud lengths in Autocad.
However, when I opened the Solidworks files with the studs and went on to check the sketches. all of the sketches were blue which ofcourse means they're un(der)defined
So now I'll have to manage just by drawing the studs in Autocad by hand, not a big issue, but it would have been nice to just export them to autocad.


On a side note: I decided I will first make a repstrap to print all the plastic parts of the RepRap Mendel. At my school we have this awesome laser cutter which would be great for cutting the parts from one or more MDF sheets.
However, while looking at a couple of lasercut Mendel projects I decided it would be best to just create all the files by hand to be certain everything has the right dimensions and all...
My next post will contain at least the drawing to examine the studs and their lengths, just to contribute to the community...
